In Disguise creates a queer and ambiguous world that speaks of gender hacking without saying a word. Zurich-based choreographer Simone Aughterlony and Berlin-based performer Antonija Livingstone—who met while dancing with Meg Stuart's Damaged Goods—engage with the raw material of wood, axes, knives and fabrics to explore the multiple, malleable and mutable nature of bodies and pleasure. A fierce pink floor serves as the metaphorical insides of the body cavities, while the sound score, produced by three-time Bessie Award recipient Hahn Rowe, is a molecular landscape that generates hormonal shifts and fluctuations in temperature.
