Film and video game narratives are rich in archetypal imagery. To create complex player engagement scenarios, writers often draw from psychology. Acclaimed game developer Tim Schafer (Grim Fandango, Psychonauts and Broken Age) hyper-fiction expert Beat Suter and Jungian analyst and filmmaker Christopher Hauke join forces to discuss the impact of Swiss psychiatrist Carl G. Jung’s theories of archetypes and collective unconscious on screenwriting and the virtual reality of gaming.
